Jackie Denning Art

Jackie Denning is a local Kansas Citian with a wandering spirit. She started "blocking" Kansas City buildings in 2008. They showed in the crossroads that year and were well received. She adds one or two new ones each year. She starts by drawing the building in reverse onto a material very similar to linolium. The image is carved out with a v shaped knife. The carved block is rolled with ink, paper is applied then it is rolled out with a rolling pin.

Jackie also makes ceramics at Belger Crane Yard clay and is working on a series to be shown in April for the garden. She is also a gardener and hosts painting parties as well as teaching printmaking, mandala and silkscreen workshops by appointment and in Communiversity.
